Loved this story. Clever marketing ploy….You have to buy the second book for under $5.00 to learn what happens. Big deal. Can’t wait. Sooooo worth it.
Ok, I liked the story, but…
I think this story is the fantasy that every teen-age girl who ever had a crush on a famous teen idol has dreamed about. It's a romantic theme, if there ever was one.
I was introduced to this book through Blair Babylon's newsletter. It took me a bit to get into this novel, but soon I was totally immersed in the lives and problems of the characters.
The problem for me was the author didn't end the book when she should have. Girl meets famous guy, girl and guy fall in love, and girl and guy are forced to split up, going back to their previous lives. That is a complete book, but the author adds on three chapters and a sneak peak, setting up her next book. This is not intriguing, it is annoying. It leaves the reader feeling cheated, like she bought a book, but only got half of it.
If it weren't for this, I would whole-heartedly recommend this book. As it is, I can only recommend it with reservations.
Cliff hanger ending
I really enjoyed this one. Light reading and a fun story with likable characters but it is incomplete story without an ending. I always appreciate people who take time to warn readers, so here I am. . . Letting y'all know. Perhaps writers just want a percentage of guaranteed sales, or they like the idea of taking a single story and expanding it so they don't have to ruthlessly edit for a tight, well told story. Whatever the reason, it is frustrating for the reader and a betrayal of the semi-sacred writer:reader pact!!!
