Publisher Description
Ellison Jones is used to sirens in the night (unfortunately, they're usually coming to her house).
So, it's a surprise when the sirens that wake her from the dead come from across the street.
Nosy neighbor Marian Dixon's house is on fire.
Luckily, the Dixons are out of town.
Unluckily, there's a body found in the ashes—a body not killed by the fire.
With Ellison's husband, Detective Anarchy Jones, investigating, the neighbors are eager for a quick resolution. But a cunning killer has other plans.
Can Ellison and Anarchy uncover the truth, or will their lives (and the rest of the block) go up in flames?

Best episode yet!
Question: have you ever started reading a book only to find characters and a storyline so forced that you got a headache just trying to get through it?? Well, toss that puppy in the trash and grab a book….any book…written by the highly talented Julie Mulhern!! You just have to wonder how she does it. How is it that Julie Mulhern consistently writes books about characters who are REAL Every. single. book. is a good solid story. Ms.Mulhern is not afraid to let her characters grow and adapt to the changes in their lives. Fire and Rain is a perfect example of changes that have come and those that are about to happen. My heart was deeply touched by this episode of Ellison and Anarchy’s life and I cannot wait to see if things follow the hinted and hopeful path they seem to be about to embark on. Such a unique twist! But then, Julie is a unique and very talented writer! No, I won’t do any spoilers….read the book and see for yourself. But trust me, you will be glad you did!! As they used to say on American Bandstand…”5 stars and a bullet”!!!!!
Love this series!
Only Wish they were longer!
Winner!
Another winner for Ellison and Anarchy. As usual, it kept my interest and I read slowly so I would prolong the inevitable... finishing the book to wait anxiously for the next one.
Mr. Coffee, in his yellow gingham wardrobe, can almost convince me that his offerings are better than a Tab with lime... Ms. Mulhern, please keep writing this series... it is much enjoyed, an escape to (?)simpler times, and a joy to read. Thank you!
