The pace of change is accelerating in a hyperbolic fashion and is predicted to reach the point of singularity in the first half of the 21st century. (1) At the point of singularity the rate of change tends towards the infinitely rapid. The pace of change may in fact be progressing exponentially. With regards to health care, it means that the amount of change experienced in the last nine years will quantitatively occur again in the next three, and then again in the square root of three and so on.
