Avlin, Texas is just like any other small town. Quiet. A little run down. But mostly full of decent folks. At least, on the surface. Henry knows better. Understands the darkness that runs underneath. The needs and wants that can ruin everything.

It’s heartbreaking that his own Momma doesn’t love him. And that the only person who wants him is a preacher who will mold him in the Lord’s image. Thing is, Henry has a choice. He can let them control him, make him do what they say—or he can use the power within him to take the life he wants. Trouble is, that power comes with a huge price Henry will never be able to pay.
