Publisher Description
New York Times bestselling author Susan Mallery's classic blend of lighthearted humor and intense emotional conflict works its magic on two newcomers to the California town of Fool's Gold, which Library Journal calls "a setting so real and appealing readers will want to start scoping out real estate."
Destiny Mills believes passion has its place—like in the lyrics of the country songs that made her parents famous. After a childhood full of drama and heartache, she wants a life that's calm. Safe. Everything that Kipling Gilmore isn't. Her temporary assignment with the Fool's Gold search and rescue team puts her in delicious proximity to the former world-class skier every day. Part of her aches to let go for once…the rest is terrified what'll happen if she does.
Though an accident ended his career, Kipling still lives for thrills—and a hot fling with a gorgeous redhead like Destiny would be a welcome diversion. Yet beneath his new coworker's cool facade is a woman who needs more than he's ever given. With her, he's ready to take the risk. But love, like skiing, is all about trust—and before you soar, you have to be willing to fall.
Look for Best of My Love, the next title in Susan Mallery’s Fool’s Gold series.
PUBLISHERS WEEKLY
Mallery imbues her 19th visit to the town of Fool's Gold, Calif. (after Until We Touch), with folksy charm and family drama. Destiny Mills, the daughter of two country music stars whose antics get as much attention as their singing, is determined to avoid the limelight. Despite having a fantastic voice, she makes her living as a nomadic computer consultant. Kipling Gilmore was once a gold-medal skier, but his athletic dreams were extinguished after a serious accident on the slopes. When Destiny comes to Fool's Gold to train the local search and rescue team on new software, her plan to keep her heart safe from the very attractive Kipling falls by the wayside after he kisses her. But Kipling is cynical about everlasting love after growing up in an abusive home, and Destiny is frightened of emotional entanglement. While the story makes occasional swerves into melodrama, the appealing characters make up for it.

Fools Gold
I love the fools Gold Series and always enjoy them. But this one got me. It was tugging on my heart strings. It was more emotional than the others. They were hurting from childhood issues effecting their decision for the future. Greg read I loved it.
Hold me!!
Susan Mallery does it again and brings you right in to Fools Gold. She is an amazing author that pulls you right into the characters and then allows you to never fully loose track of the characters in past books. Destiny is "running" from her natural talents and her feelings. She is trying to go through life without strong feeling and then Kipling comes into her life. Any of these books can be read as stand alone, but I would recommend going back and reading all of the Fools Gold series.
Hold Me is a Winner!
Susan Mallery is a winner every time! I love the town of Fools Gold! Destiny and Kipling are a perfect match and I love seeing returning characters build relationships with and accepting the new arrivals to Fools Gold!
