Instant New York Times Bestseller!
“Best-selling author James Patterson populates his murder-mystery novels with cold-blooded killers and smart detectives” (USA Today). In Holmes is Missing, PI Brendan Holmes has committed the perfect crime—he’s made himself disappear.
Success has come quickly to Holmes, Marple & Poe Investigations. The New York City agency led by three detectives—Brendan Holmes, “the brain,” Margaret Marple, “the eyes,” and Auguste Poe, the “muscle”—with famous names and mysterious pasts is one major case away from cementing its professional reputation.
But as a series of child abductions tests the PIs’ legendary skills, the cerebral Holmes’s absence leaves a gaping hole in the agency roster.
Only by closing ranks and solving the mystery within can they recover all that’s been lost.
APPLE BOOKS REVIEW
An extraordinary crime requires extraordinary investigators in this electrifying mystery. When six babies go missing from a maternity ward in an affluent New York Hospital, the desperate parents turn to the infamous private detective firm Holmes, Marple & Poe. With the fate of these children in jeopardy, Brendan Holmes, just released from a drug rehab facility, finds himself doubting his renowned skills for observation and deduction when he goes up against a brilliant, Moriarty-like criminal mastermind. Like the best puzzle, this intense mystery is masterfully crafted, deftly revealing the full scope of the crime as each piece falls into place. We loved how Holmes’ brilliant partners, Auguste Poe and Margaret Marple, get their chance to shine, along with their feisty girl Friday, Virginia. With its complex plotting, unforgettable characters, and clever literary references, Holmes Is Missing is a treasure chest mystery fans will love to open.
Customer Reviews
Excellent read!
Enjoyed every minute of this fast paced and engaging read. Characters were perfectly described and engaging. Highly recommend
Elementary plot filled with pot-Holmes
So, Holmes is out of the game, then back in it, then out again, then hooked up with Marple - all the while thoroughly outwitted by a villain at all turns.
No plausible explanation how a baby seller and a serial killer met and formed an alliance.
Great novel!
Loved this book!! More please!
