What’s Really Important
“Hugg ‘n’ Bugg: The Race,” is the fourth story in the Hugg ‘n’ Bugg series by author Ian Brown and illustrator Eoin Clarke. I do have to say that so far, the cover art on this one is my favorite of the four: the characters are all so colorful, interesting and detailed, and they appear here with Hugg, literally hugging all of them in a “group shot.” Hugg the Himalayan yeti has come a long way since book #1. He has loads of friends now, all thanks to his best bud, Bugg, the flea who styles his hair and keeps him clean. The story has a moral, as do all the Hugg ‘n’ Buggs, this one being that truly winning is all about doing your best. Unlike former, lonelier times, with all of Hugg’s friends supporting him, no amount of bullying can bring him down. Additionally, I find it very apropos that the creators of the “Albert the TORTOISE” series should have come up with this particular tale. You’ll see just what I mean once you’ve read it. A fun book for kids and a reminder to readers of any age of what’s really important in life.
