Emotionally charged!
This is book 2 in the Aspen Pack series and it features Chase, Alpha of the Aspen pack and Skye, a Redwood pack member. Their story was exciting, packed with action and deeply heartfelt. It was sad at times and full of hope other times. I felt Skye’s hopelessness at trying to find her place in the pack. Also her relationship with Chase broke my heart.
This story was very well written and at times had me on the edge of my seat! The character growth is immense and emotionally powerful. I love to see these young alphas give their all for these hard-fought victories, no matter how small. I can’t wait to visit the Aspen Pack again!
Friends to lovers amidst a scary supernatural war
In this continuation of an overarching storyline, Chase and Skye explore their growing attraction. While I was enthralled by their falling in love story it was also heartbreaking in that the fated mate certainty was not there. As the tale progresses we get more detail about our intrepid couple and the Vampires that are terrorizing the shifters keeping me turning the pages as fast as I could. I love this “world” and all of the shifters in it. I try to savor the romance in these stories but when they end I’m always jonesing for more.
Enjoy the ride
I really enjoyed Chase and Skye's story, however, I now have even more questions. Ms Ryan knows how to draw out the suspense on who the bad guy is and why. She did this in the Redwoods and she's doing it again here. I still wonder is the bad guys are related somehow, but one was a demon and the other is a vampire so doubtful.
All I can say is read the book, read the series and enjoy the ride with the rest of us. I can't wait for the next book.
Aiden Snow and Kit Swann do such a great job with the shifters. It's like they were born to narrate them.
