"Breathtaking, intense, and scorching hot, KING OF SHADOWS is the modern myth I've been waiting for." –New York Times Bestselling Author Skye Warren

Persephone has always been my forbidden bride. She just doesn't know it yet.

My word is law in my fortress kingdom, and the deals I make are unbreakable. Before she was even born, Persephone's mother traded her as payment for her debts.

Now those debts are coming due.

When sheltered, innocent Persephone throws herself at my feet, she has no idea that she already belongs to me. All she knows is that I'm the most powerful man in the world.

And all she wants is the one thing she can never have: her freedom.

I'm the king of her nightmares. And she's my new queen.

King of Shadows is the first in a delicious contemporary trilogy by USA Today bestselling author Amelia Wilde.

Interesting story

This is an interesting story. I couldn’t put it down. I enjoyed every second of it. I can’t wait to read the next book.

Persephone has been on her mother’s farm all her life except for three years. She wants to go to the city but her mother won’t hear of it. She has filled Persephone’s head about the horrible things that happen in the city. Persephone takes a chance to get on the train late one night not realizing that her life is going to change and go down a different path. Luther Hades makes a bargain with her. He knows that he is not going to be nice as it’s not in his nature. There is something about her that is bringing something out in her. Will he figure out what he really wants from her before it’s too late?
