(The first book is great, but you don’t need to have read it to enjoy this follow-up.) True-crime-loving friends Elizabeth, Joyce, Ron, and Ibrahim land in the middle of a dangerous case when Elizabeth receives an unexpected letter from a man Elizabeth worked with years ago at MI5—who’s supposed to be long dead. Before you can say “afternoon tea,” the club are knee deep in a riveting investigation involving 20 million pounds’ worth of diamonds freshly stolen from the Mafia. We were caught up in the excitement as the septuagenarians venture into the British underworld; Osman’s witty asides and sarcastic dialogue keep the mood buoyant and fun. Brilliant
One of the most fun books I have read in ages. But not only was it funny it was a brilliant story that kept me hooked. It took me a while to figure out who had actually committed the crime, which was interesting because it doesn’t usually take that long for me. But I liked that I didn’t figure it out right away as it made the book even more fun for me. I highly, highly recommend this book.
