New York Times Bestseller

The internationally syndicated radio host celebrates a group of critically important yet usually overlooked women—stay-at-home moms—and offers them words of inspiration and wisdom.

“I’m scared out of my mind.”

Dr. Laura hears this frequently from women who know that staying home to raise their children is the right thing for their family. Building on the principles developed during her long career as a licensed Marriage and Family Therapist, Dr. Laura provides a wealth of advice and support as well as compassion and inspiration to help them attain this goal. She pays special attention to the outrageous fact that stay-at-home moms are actually controversial! Dr. Laura offers a profound and unique understanding of how important it is for many mothers to raise their own children, and how stay-at-home moms benefit society.

The job without a punch card

Dr. Laura added one more diamond to the necklace of truths that we wear every day and call Life. Dr. Laura is the Master of '"saying it as it is", and I don't know many people / celebrities who can do this without fearing that they might offend and, consequently, become a persona non grata of so easy to offend society.
Being a Mother is a Job with no sick days, vacation, or promotions. Being a Mother requires to, well, be a Mother just as being a chef requires to cook. Why so many feminists are throwing this truth under the rug, is beyond my understanding capability. Why so many women choose to have a baby and immediately after that to place him/her under a hired help umbrella, it is again beyond my understanding level. Why women refuse to be Women, Mothers, and Matriarchs......well, you know, I am lost there, too.
Dr. Laura shines a light on that many women are afraid to flick a match on: BEING A MOTHER. TAKING CARE OF THEIR OWN CHILD.
Thank you, Dr. Laura, thank you for charging my batteries as a stay-at-home mom -- I do need the respect and appreciation that any worker will take, too, without feeling guilty.
God bless you, and God bless all stay-at-home mothers! For theirs is the true happiness.
