Fabulous Contemporary Romance Novel!
This is a well-written, entertaining, friends to lovers, contemporary romance novel. It has a likable, intelligent and creative female protagonist, a kind and caring male protagonist, a unique football injury, supportive friends and coworkers, many laugh out loud moments, and a happily ever after ending. I especially enjoyed the witty name of the chocolate shop and its offerings. This is the second entry in the Mile High Stallions series, and it can be read as a stand alone. Ms. Hovland's loyal readers will appreciate the appearance of characters from the first entry in this delightful series. I am looking forward to reading the next installment with great anticipation. I received an advanced reader copy of this fabulous novel from the author. This is my honest opinion.
Love and happiness
I loved this friends to lovers to forever, brother’s best friend romance. The story had a wonderful balance of humor, heartwarming love, real life issues, light angst, and spice without any third act breakup. The story was warm and fuzzy and made my heart happy to read the book and just get lost in the love story. Finn is a professional football player who just suffered a severe groin injury during a game. Emily is a shark of a litigation attorney. Emily’s brother is also Finn’s best friend and agent and Finn and Emily have been good friends for years. Just when Finn is home recovering from his injury with Emily temporarily living with him to help out, she makes the decision to resign her partnership to open a chocolate shop. The forced proximity and Finn’s fears make it harder to hide the feelings that have always been there between them so they agree to an experiment. To get to their HEA there will need to be a bit of baggage unpacking, truth telling, leaps of faith, and of course, life course correction. The story was well written and included engaging dialogue, three dimensional characters who grow, and a captivating storyline. I am looking forward to reading more in the series in the Stallions series world. 4.25 stars.
A fun story
What a great story of friends to lovers! I loved the friendship between Finn and Emily. You could see they were great friends and I enjoyed seeing them realize their feelings were more than friendship. They each saw the other most clearly and stepped in to help and be there for each other when it was needed. Their relationship felt natural. The chemistry between the two could be felt through the pages. I laughed a lot and was touched by the way they grew closer. I definitely recommend this book. It was so fun.
