Publisher Description
A former member of the violent Latin Kings street gang, Reymundo Sanchez brings his hard-earned experience and insight to bear on the issue of young women in gangs, tracing the heartbreaking transformation of a bright young girl named Sonia Rodriguez--who tried desperately to avoid the drugs, violence, and gang members that infested her family and neighborhood--into the ruthless and powerful Latin Queen leader known as "Lady Q." From throwing punches and running drugs to getting shot at and doing time in prison, Lady Q follows the same dangerous, dead-end road as so many young men in gangs, until she realizes that saving herself and her children means changing course before it's too late.

Great read
Sad to read that even after everything she endured she still failed to change.
Wish It had a better ending
This book is amazing and shows the true struggles one faces
Heartbreaking and Raw.
Her story is far too common in our inner city communities. People shouldn't have children without a proper education. Education should be a priority in everyone's life and it should not be a privilege. If Latinos and African American families were given the proper opportunities to continue an educational pursuit, than some of this violence and crime could've been avoided. This book brought me to tears and I'm very grateful and lucky to have had parents that helped and pushed me to where I am. I wish her well. Read this and let it humble your soul. Peace.
