There's danger in the beauty...
Two years, six months, and twenty-five days. That's how long it had been since I'd seen my winged hero— not that I'd been counting. I'd suffered through years of counseling just to convince my friends and family that I wasn't crazy and knew he didn't exist.
But he did. And I was done waiting.
Days after college graduation I headed back down to New Orleans to retrace my steps and find Owen again only to find my life was about to get even crazier... thanks to the most beautiful and dangerous of all paranormal creatures, the Allures.
*New Adult Paranormal Romance*
Lored me right in!
I was so excited when Alyssa Rose Ivy's Lure showed up on my kindle! I have been wondering what Owen and Daisy have been up to. And this first book in The Allure Chronicles did not disappoint!
Daisy has spent her college years since meeting Owen in NOLA being told she was crazy by family, friends and therapists. She was told that Owen didn't exist and the events of that fateful Halloween night never happened. She held off for two years, six months, and twenty-five days seeking solace and like minded people online in Paranormal Obsessed, an online forum where people chatted about paranormal creatures. As soon as she graduated she headed straight for NOLA using a job interview as a guise to find Owen, her winged hero, the man who saved her and changed her life with a scorching kiss that will forever be seared into her memory. When Daisy gets to New Orleans will it be as she remembers? Will Owen be there waiting for her? Or will some other magical, Paranormal beings be there?
Ahhh...Alyssa Rose Ivy lured me into this tale of paranormal life. Her depictions of the characters and their interactions had me captivated the entire time. I absolutely love how different each one is. It gives the book so much more depth. I also like that we discover information about the different paranormal creatures that Daisy encounters as she does. So while my curiosity was burning I appreciated the slow tease of information. It left me yearning for more. Swiping the pages faster and faster. And cursing the doctors as they interrupted my reading (really they couldn't have kept me waiting just a smidge longer!!)
Just as in thee prequel I was enchanted by Lure and immediately drawn into the story. I definitely recommend Lure. But I do also recommend, that you snatch up Seduction's Kiss (the prequel) to get Owen & Daisy's back-story. It is a quick read that sets the stage for Lure perfectly. (It is also FREE everywhere ;) )
I received a complimentary copy, in exchange for an honest review.
I did not like the story. Not really a story. More Daisy’s dialogue. Forced myself to finish. Daisy’s a child. Bad decision after bad decision. This book is so different from Levi and Allie’s story. It doesn’t seem like they were written by the same author. I loved reading about the Pterons. Disappointing. Needless to say, I will not continue.
Didn’t make it through the first third
The story was dragging and the main character Daisy wasn’t believable. She just keeps making the worse decisions yet harping on how she isn’t crazy and a strong women. Well actions speak louder than the pages of inner monologue.
I never stop a book, but I just couldn’t keep going. This is so predictable I know how it will turn out anyway.
