Soar (The Empire Chronicles #1)
Publisher Description
In the city that never sleeps the Chronicles continue…
Serving coffee is temporary, just like Casey's year off from school. She’s going to come up with a plan to stay in New York City and go back to college, and that plan does not involve dating a paranormal creature—let alone two.
Running the supernatural society of New York is not as fun as it sounds, especially when you still have to answer to your ex-girlfriend’s fiancé. Toby doesn’t mean to bring Casey into the chaos of his life, but he can't resist the girl who makes him smile when he thought no one else ever could.
Jared's in New York checking out a security risk for his best friend, the king. He plans to return to New Orleans quickly, but not if it means losing his chance with the brunette who pretends she wants nothing to do with him.
In over her head with a bunch of winged creatures who most definitely are not angels, Casey has to figure out who to trust with her life and maybe her heart.
Customer Reviews
Looks good, but overpriced.
Looks promising. Too bad its $3.00 for 230 pages and along with it Being the 1st book in the series.
I'm bored already!
I'm not even halfway through it and I'm bored. I can't believe this is the same author of the original Cresent series. Toby is the same brat as before, which was good. Casey was annoying. I don't believe I will be finishing this book. I mean I'm already bored with the characters, dialogue and juvenile behavior. I mean why is Eric dangerous all of a sudden? He seemed pretty forthcoming to me. He wants to mate with Casey. That doesn't make him dangerous enough for her to have to move in with Toby. I don't understand the high ratings. Perhaps I'll complete the story some day and update. Maybe. It's taken me hours to read and I'm not even close to halfway. In the original books it was like I was in New Orleans, but in Soar I can't even picture New York. Maybe that's what's missing. The author 's description of the city, characters and mystery. It's all just too unbelievable.
Good book
I enjoyed the book a lot I was just upset she ended up on team (won't be a spoiler) but I'm not going to take credit away from this book it was really fast paced and I was really in the story line.
