Killian McGregor may not have had the best start in life, but he's figured out how to finish things well. He began with swimming, propelling himself fast enough through the water to land a scholarship to NYU. He's also found a way to turn his artistic talent into a career—it's just not the career he wants. He'd rather focus on installation art, turning trash into something meaningful.

He has a plan, though.

Killian's selling a piece at a holiday gala in a prominent New York gallery, and he's hoping to pitch the most influential artist in New York City with an idea for an exhibit that could change everything. Before he can pitch the guy, Killian runs into the woman he kissed on New Year's Eve six years ago, a woman he never stopped thinking about.

Unfortunately, she was adamant that they would never talk about their kiss, and her boyfriend happens to be the very artist he needs to impress. As they prepare for a Christmas gala no one could ever forget, Killian spends more time with Victoria. Only, their time together just reminds him how much he liked her—and still does.

Can Killian convince the older and wiser Victoria that it's a smart play to bet on a (somewhat messy) younger man? And will pursuing the woman of his dreams cost Killian his career?
