Cast (the House of Night series) conjures up an intriguing world full of constant danger, but the rules are ill-defined: for instance, it's never fully explained why Earth Walker women suffer from depression if not healed regularly, while the men devolve into savage rapists. An obligatory romantic subplot and cliffhanger ending may leave readers unfulfilled, despite engaging characters and a fast-paced narrative. Ages 12 up.

I was waiting for Nora to publish another book and was antsy to read something when this book caught my eye. I read the back cover and thought “oh well I can try it”. So glad I did. Have read it 3 times already and very impatient for the fourth book to come out. The characters and the story really move me. Sure hope Ms Cast hurries with the last one before I write my own ending, lol.

Best new series
After the House of Night series I was anxious for another series to dive into. P.C Cast didn’t disappoint me with this one! I’m totally hooked! I’ve pre-ordered every single book!
