Going from a professional baseball player to a SWAT officer should’ve been seamless. Should have been.
But it wasn’t.
All it took was one single calendar shoot for word to spread that Nathan Cox was not only no longer playing professional baseball, but he was also the man behind saving the life of Reggie Morton, the City of Kilgore’s princess.
***
Reggie didn’t know that by agreeing to provide the expertise and the know-how for the Police Officer’s Ball that she would be required to actually attend the function.
What she also didn’t expect was needing to be saved—again—by the same man that had saved her life a year ago when she hosted her debut event.
This time in a not-nearly-as-spectacular way. The moment she falls into his arms like a modern-day Cinderella and takes him in in all his three-piece suited glory, she realizes that she’s been fighting the impossible.
Nathan Cox owns her. Body and soul.

Great read
I really liked reading about Nathan and Reggie, since I’ve read the books about there parents. I throughly enjoyed this book, it could have been a little more in-depth with like a lot of this authors other books. I would have liked to know the egg donors name but that’s probably a story to be told in another book.
What a rollercoaster of a book – and I couldn’t get enough!
What a rollercoaster of a book – and I couldn’t get enough! This installment in this series focuses on Nathan and Reggie. Always in competition as kids, as they grew older they make a secret decision that nobody knows until it comes out years later helping Nathan’s cause. Professional baseball player turned police officer; Nathan has always had feelings for Reggie but felt that she never felt the same way. Keeping an eye out for her and always overprotective, the tables are turned when Reggie finds out a big secret Nathan’s ex-girlfriend has kept from him and it changes everything. Reggie has always had feelings for Nathan but never thought he reciprocated them, and as a way to help him out and solve his problems she ends up tying herself to him although not everybody knows. When their world is changed thanks to Nathan’s ex, the couple decides to make their secret real and give things a shot, and their feelings come out. This book was one bombshell after another and kept me on the edge of my seat while unable to put the book down! My jaw was perpetually on the floor the entire time. Per usual, I thoroughly enjoyed this book (much like all of LLVs books!) and I can’t wait to get my hands on the next installment in the series and see what second generation kids end up together!
I voluntarily read and reviewed an Advance Reader Copy of this book.
