Great audio listen
Amish vampires?! Lydia Michaels?! Say no more. What an incredible book this was, such a wild ride. I am. Not normally a fan of vampire tales, but this one was fantastic. I listened in audio and the narrators were perfection. Pick this one up!
DNF
Maybe I should’ve tried harder and stuck it out but I couldn’t take it anymore. Straight up DNF. No matter how hard the author tired to make Adam sound sexy and attractive, I see him with a bowl cut and a beard, and I can’t unsee it. But mainly this type of “against her will” trope is not my gig. A lot of their first moments together were very cringy and there was no regard for what she wanted or who she was as a person. The whole this is God’s plan and his way is something I can’t get behind. Maybe the story changes as it goes and she gets some independence but I can’t make myself finish to find out. One bright point is the female lead’s point of view was authentic and allowed for me to get to know her quickly. But it wasn’t enough to make me finish the book or get behind her potentially becoming a sweet housewife who gets down and dirty in the vampire little house on the prairie.
Couldn’t put it down
Great read
