Luke Nolan looked at the bendy guillotine in his hands and felt irritable.
He walked over to the window and reflected on his quiet surroundings. He had always loved grand Newton Abbot with its quarrelsome, quaint quarries. It was a place that encouraged his tendency to feel irritable.
Then he saw something in the distance, or rather someone. It was the figure of Phil Connor. Phil was a patient lawyer with brunette legs and spiky ankles.
