Great book and series!
This is the second book in the Firehouse Fourteen series. You can tell that the author is a former firefighter by how well she knows the workings at the firehouse as well as what they are experiencing on the job. She did a good job with the storyline and development of the characters. It also helps that the action is hot and steamy. While this book is part of a series, it can be read as a standalone and the story itself does not end in a cliffhanger. Though the epilogue does have a cliffhanger for the next book.
Jay Moore is a fire fighter and hasn't been known for being in long term relationships. Angie Warren graduated college thanks to a scholarship and is working while studying veterinary medicine. Angie works at a bar where her brother Dave and others on that shift at the fire station hang out. This includes Jay.
Jay rescues Angie one night when her car won't start. He is attracted to her but isn't willing to break the bro code by going after his friend's younger sister. Angie has her own plans for Jay and pursues him despite his initial reluctance. Of course problems occur when her over protective brother comes between them. Will they fight to remain together or will family loyalty win out even if it makes everyone miserable?
The author did a fantastic job of giving depth, thoughts, emotions, and struggles to these characters. This book made me feel like it was me dealing with them and not just reading a storyline in a book. I can't wait to read future books in this series! I highly recommend that you read this book!
