Margery Williams Bianco (1881 - 1944) was an English-American author, primarily of popular children's books. A professional writer since the age of nineteen.

Poor Cecco is the wonderful story of a wooden dog who was the jolliest toy in the house until he went out to explore the world.

Beautifully illustrated by Arthur Rackham (1867-1939), Rackham was one of the premier illustrators of the early 20th Century. He illustrated many books, the first of which was published in 1893.
