Five years ago, Mila Carmody disappeared from her bed, and that was only the beginning. Now eight-year-old Vonnie Feinstein is missing as well. Two little girls, swallowed by darkness, never to be seen again.
For Micah Ganaway, it might be the end. Arrested for child abduction, he’s already been tried in the court of public opinion and found guilty. The lead detective assures him the trial is just a formality. But private investigator Hallie Chastain isn’t so certain. On paper, Ganaway makes a reasonable suspect, but in person, things don’t quite add up.
Detective Ford Prestia doesn’t share his partner’s convictions either, but he’s the new cop in town. Can’t afford to rock the boat. Then he meets Hallie, and when she rocks not only the boat but his whole world, he finds his career isn’t the only thing in jeopardy…

Pretties in Pink
So happy to be back with Emmy, Black & the rest of the gang. Loved Hallie & Ford’s interactions and adored Ford’s character. Can’t wait for the rest of the plot to resolve in the next book!
Pretties, oh my!
A fabulously written page-turner that you won't put down. And best of all, the Blackwood team is back, baby! It begins with an investigation into a possible abduction, which turns into a shocking discovery and ends with healing and romance. Yes, you will experience all the feels. Enjoy the ride and check it out!
An explosive comeback of the Blackwood team!
Series often become trite after the first few episodes; this is definitely not the case with the Blackwood books. Every book is surprisingly fresh, full of new characters, new ideas, new adventures. The plots are rich, with many side narratives intertwined one with the other; each book is also a true stand-alone novel. Pretties in Pink is no exception. It is a riveting, captivating story celebrating the best of the wit, the skills, and the generosity of the Blackwood team while introducing new intriguing characters with an eye on the grave matter of abuse. Once started, it is very hard not to be captured by this book. The storyline is a rollercoaster of emotions, changing from sympathy to disdain every few pages. The scenes have a fast and steady pace, and the plot is full of twits. I stayed late at night finishing the book because I enjoyed it so much I didn't want it to end.
