Publisher Description

From USA TODAY bestselling author S.M. West comes a stunning, fake relationship, billionaire standalone romance.

It’s a simple business deal until things get personal.

Zachary Rothwell is one of Toronto’s most eligible bachelors and CEO of Rothwell Enterprises. He wears success like a well-tailored suit and confidence oozes from his every move. And he’s my last hope for dealing with my creepy landlord problem.

It turns out Zach has a problem of his own and sees a golden opportunity for each of us to get what we want.

To access his heavily guarded trust fund, he needs to be in a relationship. His proposition? I pretend to be his love interest and he’ll make my legal problem go away.

It’s a simple win-win situation.

If we promise to keep this strictly business, nothing can go wrong…

At least, that’s what I thought.

But when we’re forced to live together, my mind and body ache for things I’ve no business wanting. Namely, Zach.

And each day it gets harder to not break my promise because I’m no longer pretending.

Better than expected. Still a bit confused.

This was a late night impulse read. I started with the sample at midnight and enjoyed the author’s writing style. I blinked, and it was 2a, and I was 3/4 done with the book. The time flew.

This is the standard fake relationship agreement with the characters lying to themselves. What I kept getting stuck on was his age, or alleged age. He read (or I read him) to be late 20s, maybe the typical 30 year old MMC. However, he is 37. That’s knocking on 40’s door and it just seemed off. For some reason it read like he was much younger and it’s not often that I read a book with the MMC that’s my age or older. Maybe that’s it, but I would think he’d be a little more independent from dear ole grandma at his age. Just kept picturing him as a younger man coming into his own. Not a bad thing per say, but just never could picture him at his given age.

All in all, it was probably one of the better fake relationship stories I’ve read in a while and I enjoyed it. Easy, nice, quick read. I’d read another by this author. I liked that the FMC had some grit and a spine and wasn’t a pushover. The MMC wasn’t overbearing but a nice mix of protective and possessive. It also had some nice steam without the plot suffering and it being “oh great they’re f***ing again…” The only real downer are Donovan and Reagan. They are a bit overdone and you can see that “plot twist” coming from a mile away.

If you’re a harsh critic and tired of poorly written free books, this one has minor errors that weren’t distracting. FWIW, I usually rate most free books I read at a 2 or 3. Give it a shot.
