Publisher Description

Our banter was electric. Fueled by equal parts hate and desire. And as intoxicating as our chemistry.
I had one simple goal: escape my life for a month.
Destination: a quiet cabin in the mountains.
I never expected to run straight into the one man who would turn all my plans—and my heart—upside down.
Carter Hills. One man I never thought I’d argue with…until I did. Constantly. Infuriatingly. And yet, impossible to ignore.
I moved in next door, thinking I could keep my distance. But Carter was everywhere. Grinning at me like he owned the place. Like he owned me. Single, broken, and not looking for trouble—I was a walking disaster for temptation.
The worst? He hid who he really was. On purpose. All this time, I thought my moody, hot-as-hell neighbor was just another man I’d pass by…never realizing how completely he would consume me.
From the first spark of our feud, he pushed me, provoked me, tested me…yet he kept coming back for more. Every. Single. Time.
And no matter how hard I tried to fight it, I couldn’t ignore the pull between us. Every accidental touch, every heated glance, every impossible moment of closeness made pretending we weren’t drawn together harder and harder.
Could I risk everything for a taste of the fire between us…or should I run before I got burned?

A small-town, enemies-to-lovers romance full of sizzling tension, heart-stopping passion, and a love you’ll never see coming.

Good start to the series

I really liked this book! I loved the banter and nicknames April and Carter gave each other The characters back stories were so interesting and really helped develop them throughout the rest of the book! There were so many surprising twists to the book and I could hardly stop reading! Can't wait to read more from Emmanuelle Snow, and l'm so grateful that she gave me the opportunity to read her book!

So good

I loved this book. Before I was even done with it, I knew I would want to read the rest of this authors romances. It had a lot of spice but also a well-developed plot which I love in romance. The tropes included grumpy-sunshine and force proximity. I loved that it was a little humorous at times but then emotional at others. The first half of the book was a slow burn, but the banter and sexual chemistry between the two were off the charts. I even loved the supporting characters. April and Saunders friendship was refreshing to see. They could talk and laugh about Aprils hot neighbor but then give the tough love when it is needed. Dahlia and Jack’s relationship with Carter gave him really good growth and I loved watching everything develop. The way April and Carter got to know each other and their adventures were cute. The strain in the relationship I could see coming and I loved how it was handled. The relationship really had to fight to work and it was just a good all around romance.

🍬It was a beautiful love story of soulmates who find a second chance at love after unsuccessful tries that left them with a lot of baggage to heal.

🍬I enjoyed reading how April and Carter lighten with each other and how much they were able to overcome. The banter was super cute, and the nickname "fairy" and all pink-related nicknames he gave to April were so cute!!

🍬Far from the love story these two develop, there is so much drama surrounding them it makes it hard to stop reading. There were a lot of things I speculated but were left to be answered at the end so I was constantly guessing. I like how Emmanuelle portrayed different levels of love, mainly with Carter, Dahlia, and Jack.

🍬I love a dual pov but, sometimes when they switch pov, it started a little too back in the story to things I've already read.

🍬The reference to looking at life with lenses of the color pink is refreshing, it all comes from the fact that April has pink hair and she is a ray of sunshine but it leaves a lot of space to reflect on how it's better to be happy with what's good with life.

💖You should give this book a try, I had a great time reading it!!
