★★★★★ “This is not a romance, it is a story about first love, first heartbreak and growing up. It is a story that helps to build foundation upon who someone is at their core, and what makes them strong, vulnerable, loving, caring and heartbroken but willing to take chances and learn to love again.” (Goodreads)
What happens when you fall in love with the wrong person who happens to be your best friend’s older brother? A compelling story of love and friendship that will tug at your heartstrings. Sweet Agony is perfect for fans of Jennifer Hartmann, Paige Toon, Rebecca Yarros, and Mia Sheridan.
As a rule-following teenager, Dahlia Ellis never imagined that falling for the wrong person would set off a roller coaster of emotions and consequences. She should have stayed away from Jeff, her best friend's older brother, but she never couldn't resist him. Shattering her best friend's heart—the one person who has stood by her since childhood—left them both with scars that only time can heal. Jeff Hills never planned to fall for his brother’s best friend, nor for the ensuing dilemma. Yet, despite the chaos in his life, their relationship is the only certainty he holds onto.
As they grow older and Dahlia's life takes her across the globe and Jeff enlists, they must learn to navigate their new reality and relationship while living thousands of miles apart, and embrace the highs and lows of love, learning to listen to their hearts. What starts as a simple attraction turns into a whirlwind romance fueled by passion and secrets that could break them. Just when they think they have it all figured out, life throws an unexpected curveball that threatens to tear them apart for good.
Can their love withstand the trials and tribulations that come their way, and can Jeff and Dahlia survive the ordeals life throws at them?
Sweet Agony is a standalone novel and the first installment of the Whiskey Melody series and Dahlia Ellis’s prequel story. It can be read by itself or before Cruel Destiny.

Emotional
In this book we get Dahlia’s story and it is an utterly heartbreaking one. I was glad to see the dynamic between her, Jeff, and Carter even if it was hard to swallow the hurt they go through. Dahlia and Jeff have this soulmate connection and even though Carter has always been her friend when she realizes he wants more than friendship she knows in her heart who she wants, but she still had this one night with Carter which blew my mind. It was hard to read this story when we got Carter and April’s epic love story (book 1) because even thought we all have pasts its hard to see these characters be with someone else even if it occurred earlier in their life. Anyways this story was a good, emotional, read that will stay with me for a while.
Great storyline!!!
I really enjoyed reading Princess and Country. It has all the things you expect from a rockstar romance plus it adds the "brother's girl" trope, which I find to add angst and juicy complications that every reader loves.
The book is relatable; it was easy to put myself into the book. Dahlia, the main female character, is stronger than she realizes. She faces problems that real life women deal with every single day.
Complete with a happy ending, this book about love and choice would be a great addition to anyone's TBR list.
An emotional read
This was a beautiful read, full of feels. Everything hit me hard. Dahlia touched my heart in ways I couldn't even begin to express in words. The writing was perfection as each line evoked my emotions. I didn't even mind crying. But love always found its way, and it did with Ms. Snow who brought the book to the second-best ending. Dahlia, in my mind, belonged to Carter. Hahaha. Complete Carter fan. And now Dahlia's
Read the book if you are a romance lover, who believes in true love. Soulmates are a different definition, well written Ms. Snow.
