Rebel Yule

A new Kate Meader book is always a treat, especially one involving the Rebel family. Christmas comes early with Rebel Yule, but it was the perfect time for the fun, festive read.

Anyone who’s read the Rebel series has witnessed the ongoing tension between Casey and Erik. The affable goaltender has been completely baffled by her animosity towards him. He’s finally had enough and is determined to discover what he’s done to make her hate his guts.

It’s both a relief and a little bittersweet to finally learn Casey and Erik’s backstory. I love the passion of a good enemies -to-lovers trope. Their contentious relationship as always given me those vibes, so it’s been fun watching the skirmishes – aka foreplay – between the two in the previous Rebel installments. Their sparks gave me life and kept me guessing at the reason.

My guess was correct in the broader sense. I suspect most readers will be, but I’m not sure anyone could have anticipated the exact reason. It’s unique and refreshing. Kudos to the author for delivering the unexpected.

Erik has always been the carefree, goofy Rebel. Who knew he’d also be one of the sweetest and most adorable? His love of his family, their holiday traditions, and his role as caretaker was endearing.

I’m a huge fan of both Rebel series, so loved seeing many of my favorite characters in the more festive, celebratory holiday environment. Rebel Yule was a fun addition to the series. Even though I just reread the series, it makes me want to dive back in again.

Holy Hotness Alert! I have been waiting for this one and the wait was definitely worth the wait. These two made my e-reader sizzle! So full of animosity and their attraction was off the charts. Then add into the mix a smoking hot hockey player that has had his sight on one woman for the last year and this holiday season maybe every one will have all their dreams come true.

Erik Jorgensen has fallen for a women for the second time in his lifetime. He is still haunted to this day about losing the first one before it really even started. But with the second woman he isn’t sure why she hates him so much. Especially when she got along with everyone else. Her smile was the first thing he noticed and he had been trying ever since to figure out why she didn’t like him.

Casey Higgins had a great job, for a great boss and a great organization, the only problem was him! She couldn’t believe her luck with men. After being dumped by her ex-boyfriend the one she thought was the one, she couldn’t believe her luck. But she was doing just fine on her own, she didn’t need someone special to feel special. But when her and the ever persistent hockey hunk get stuck in a elevator together will she finally tell Erik exactly why she has been giving him the cold shoulder?

Will this Christmas be like all the rest or will Casey let her walls down and give the stone cold hockey player a way into her heart? Erik brings out all the stops to capture the woman of his dreams and you are going to love every moment. I fell hard for this hockey hottie. #swoon
