My life has always been pretty predictable. Run into burning buildings, save those in distress, be a hero. Shoot the shit with my fireman buddies, come home, and do it all again tomorrow. Little did I know that a random SOS call from a woman stuck in a plaster cast with nothing underneath (I swear I only caught a flash of skin) would throw me for a complete loop.
Until I see the flighty artist again. At my mom’s engagement party. To her dad.
Suddenly the unpredictable woman I couldn’t stop thinking about is my soon-to-be-stepsister. Yeah, the same one I mortified when I accidentally saw her a tiny bit naked. This should make family gatherings way more interesting.
Except when your mom’s as loaded as mine is, you can never fully let your guard down when a guy comes sniffing around. So I can’t help but be suspicious, even though his daughter’s the perfect blend of beautiful and wild. As we spend more time together, prepping for our parents’ wedding, we both agree that maybe there’s nothing wrong with having a little bit of fun in the meantime. But if she knew I was investigating her dad on the side, she would never forgive me…
So much fun
When I read the first book in the Mike High Happiness series, I thought “I really hope the firefighters get their own series.” I could barely contain my excitement when I saw the announcement for The Wedding Dilemma!
This book is a ton of fun with some angst tossed in. It’s got banter and mishaps, and chemistry. I got to revisit some characters that I absolutely fell in love with during the MHH series and met some more that have me hoping for all of the books.
Fantastic! It was so hot, I need more!!! I don’t usually write reviews but I finished this book like my life depended on it! Now I gotta ask my husband if he is down to some painting ;) Absolutely Loved it!!
When Failure Meets Fate
This is the first book by Mariah Ankenman that I have read, and I was hooked from the beginning. Told from the third person point of view, the story includes many emotions — embarrassment, angst, and drama, to name a few. There are sweet and romantic sex scenes along with funny mishaps like igniting a microwave on fire and get a high heel caught in a sidewalk grate.
Some of my favorite parts —
* The camaraderie of the firefighters
* The “Lumbersnacks” and the “Most Extinguished”
* The banter between Tamsen and Parker along with the trivia night bets
Every relationship has struggles and that includes Parker and Tamsen. The hunky firefighter has trust issues thanks to his dad abandoning him and the beautiful artist is accident prone which has caused issues with previous guys she dated.
If you like romantic comedies and alternating between laughing out loud and swooning at sweet nothings, this is the book for you.
I received a complimentary copy of this book and am voluntarily giving an honest review
