A little too
... much of everything - repetitive pain, suffering, disparaging memories, dreadful Abyss horde. The trilogy storyline, while interesting enough to follow, dragged in delivery. Too much tragic memory, sadness, despair, near death event within each first person chapter - not the riveting content for building audiences (e.g. - Roth or McCaffrey). The last chapter time line jump (3k years) was clumsy - totally new characters for a happy ending? If a hook to the next series ... pass. Very likely my last D. Arenson reads.
