Publisher Description
Sometimes, I wish I weren't a Hawke...especially because I'm in love with one.
Years of living on the streets taught me one hard lesson…
Don't trust anyone.
People are inherently bad and will do bad things any chance they get.
So, when the Hawkes took me under their wings…
I put up walls so high that no one could ever climb over them.
Most stopped trying.
It was the way I liked it.
Locked away in my own little world.
Protected from anything that could hurt me.
But the very person I try so hard to keep out is the only one I want to let in.
I dream about her touch.
Crave her in a way I have no right to.
She's my best friend's older sister.
No matter what…I have to keep my hands off Angelina...
Because she's a Hawke.

Jude and Angelina an emotional read
4.8 stars
This is Jude and Angelina’s story and what an emotional read it is. Jude is hiding from his family due to his preconceived notions that they would not want him as he is. He has his secrets that he does not want exposed. Angelina is the sister of Jude’s best friend Allie, and the woman Jude has been in love with for over fifteen years. There is something between Jude and Angelina but because she is older, she cannot understand the draw to him, and she has her own baggage. However, when a vendetta is starting to ramp up against the Hawke family, Jude is determined to keep her safe. These two are the salve that can help them heal. Watching their dynamic play out may have you on pins and needles. Ms. McNamee did an outstanding job handling a character dealing with agoraphobia, showing the challenges that one faces. Overall, this is one heart stopping love story with all the feels that you want to add to your shelf.
Oh my Heart!!
OH MY HEART!!!! I thought that my heart was going to break for Jude. It was heart wrenching. But the way that he and Angelina fit together and help each other is amazing. They’re each others’ person. That’s one of the keys to a good story. I swear Gwyn hits it on the head with every book. I have had some ideas about some of the stuff going on, but I have a feeling that I’m likely going to be proven wrong in upcoming books.
I love this generation of the Hawkes, and I’m reminded of how much I love the older generation as well.
