Ryder Monroe wants me gone. Too bad I don’t go down easy.
I finally found a place where I belong—new friends, late-night bonfires, freedom I’ve never had before. This summer was supposed to be everything. And it almost is… except for one complication. One maddening, gorgeous, impossible complication.

From the second we met, he made it clear he can’t stand me. He’s sarcastic, smug, and hellbent on driving me out of town—like I’m some kind of threat to his perfectly controlled world. He pushes, I push back harder. It’s a war of words, glares, and accidental run-ins that feel way too on purpose.
But just when I think I’ve got him figured out, Ryder shows me a side of himself I wasn’t supposed to see—raw, real, and anything but heartless.

This was supposed to be a summer to remember. I just didn’t expect it to be because of him.
