Publisher Description
I'm Riley McKay. The perfect boyfriend.
Why? I'm rich, good looking, and can climb a mountain with my bare hands. I remember birthdays and anniversaries. And I'm a seriously decent guy.
Your mom will love me. Your dad will respect me (in that grudging way dads do when they know you're screwing their daughter).
And when it ends, which—let's be honest—it always does…
I'm nice then too.
There's nothing missing from my rinse-and-repeat life. Definitely not the girl who walked away ten years ago without a word.
The one who drops back into my life like a fireball when I least expect it.
The only woman I couldn't do 'nice' with.
They say you can't rise without the fall.
With her, I've already fallen. And no matter how sexy she is, how beautiful, or confident or edgy… I won't fall for Sam again.
Because falling is easy. It's getting up that's a b*tch.
Riley and Samantha's story is a sexy second-chances romance that will give you all the feels.
RISE is book three in the hit series about a quirky group of young gaming and finance professionals in Boston. To read in order: PLAY, NSFW, RISE.

I am totally in love with Riley and I’m so glad I got to read his story. This was an excellent second chance romance. I love seeing the other characters from Play and NSFW pop up and we get a glimpse of their lives.
Ughhhh
The way Charlie was depicted in this book towards the end seemed too different. I understand she fell in love with Avery, but it seemed too conventional. Her character development was a complete downgrade! I kind of want my money back.
“I don’t want to make you think. I want to make you reckless.”
RISE is a second chance best friendship to lovers romance. This story is told from the POV of Riley McKay who you may or may not be familiar with if you’ve read PLAY and NSFW by Piper Lawson. He is just a side character in those books, but takes the spot light in this one when he reconnects with someone from his past. Riley has been a serial monogamous over the years, but something has always held him back from that next step in a relationship. When Sam comes back into his life, albeit seemingly reluctantly, that missing part seems to be found, but Riley and Sam both have doubts and pasts that don’t allow them to let what they so clearly have evolve.
I really enjoyed RISE even though it was a slightly different tone than the first two books in this standalone series. It’s a bit more angsty and the characters have heavier hang ups they are dealing with. It’s still very enjoyable and has a dash of the humor that readers of Piper Lawson’s will be used to.
All in all this is a good read. If you’re looking to feel all the feels with Riley and Sam, you definitely need to check out RISE.
