If you’ve read Samantha Chase in the past, you know she writes character driven, friends and family standalone series stories … and Seeing You is one of the best!
The Donovans / Sweetbriar Ridge won’t disappoint, but if you haven’t read any / all of the others in the series, not to worry. Seeing You can be read as a standalone … but fair warning that you’re going to want to download and binge read the other!
Billie Donovan is living her best life … a second life as the town’s baker after she decided that the corporate / finance life wasn’t for her. She’s back in her home town and loving being around her family and life long friends … and she’s got a bit of a secret, although many wouldn’t think it really is something under wraps. Billie is one of the town’s biggest (if not the biggest) benevolent investor. She’s done well by herself and isn’t shy about investing in and helping out those closest to her when they could use a boost! The only thing weighing on her … a biggie … is that she really wants a husband and family of her own. SHe’s tired of being the odd man out and always wonders if she did the right thing all those years ago when she left Marcus.
Marcus, Billie’s former fiancé, is back in town, shamed into taking care of his elderly father. He runs into Billie and the sparks start flying immediately … both romantic and emotional. Seeing You is the perfect title!
A second chance at love for Billie and Marcus means coming to terms with loss and acceptance and opening up to change. But, it also includes actually SEEING the other person in the relationship. This story was so realistic and written with a lot of heart. I have waited a while for Billie’s story, so worth it though. From the first page I was hooked! Don’t miss this story, you will be so glad you didn’t!
