Something borrowed
I loved this sweet book of loss and love and family at its best. I love unexpected happy endings.
If I could just give one suggestion, it would be that the kids’ dialogue stay in the same context without the terrible grammar. Maybe it was an attempt to cue the reader that they are children, but every time there was an “ain’t” or a wrong tense, I cringed. Rather than adding to the story, I personally found it very distracting.
