In Story, McKee expands on the concepts he teaches in his seminars, providing readers with the most comprehensive, integrated explanation of the craft of writing for the screen. The book covers everything from the basic concepts of structure to the classic five-part narrative structure to how to proceed from concept to final manuscript. McKee displays his mastery of such subjects as the audience bond, narrative structure and the most effective writing process.
Customer Reviews
Amazing book for learning about writhing compelling stories.
I've tried to write some stories, for fun, in the past and each was pretty boring.
After reading this I realize every paradigm I had about story was not useful enough to create compelling content.
I feel, after reading this, that there is a new set of tools I have to work with that will improve my story telling greatly.
An Excellent & Insightful Experience
This is a fascinating read. Amazingly this is actually a philosophy book about the human condition…masquerading as a book about screenwriting. I’ve made several attempts to finish this book and failed. But once I finally discovered what it is that wanted to write, I was finally able to scale this mountain. I now have the tools and techniques that I need to begin my journey as a screenwriter.
The Bible of Screenwriting!
