Publisher Description
I love him. And I'm pretty sure he loves me back… even though he's straight.
When I first met Carter King, I knew he was something special. I imagined us being together, and we are, but only as friends. Best friends! I'm trying to be cool with that, even though I know he has secrets, and there have definitely been mixed signals. I don't want a crush to ruin what we already have. Then again, if there's any chance that we can be together, it's worth the risk, because Carter could be the love of my life. Or he might be the boy who breaks my heart.
Straight Boy is Jay Bell's emotional successor to his critically acclaimed Something Like… series. This full-length novel tells a story of friendship and love while skirting the blurry line that often divides the two.
Customer Reviews
Jay Bell... another good one!!
I knew I was close to the end when this story exploded. I was scared and worried... These characters are my friends. Epilogues are good things... at first rather sad, but then the sun shined in... A bit of a surprise, but you left me smiling with a lump in my throat. Thanks, again, Jay!
Heartbreakingly Accurate Story
Although the ending was emotion packed and added a great deal of dramatic effect, the remainder of this story is one that is familiar. I thoroughly enjoyed being able to relate to Andrew’s story and the internal struggle he faces throughout the entire novel. The sad reality is that too many LGBTQ+ teens would know this story without reading Jay’s clever and emotional writing, but I think this will serve as an important reminder they aren’t alone.
Great book
Loved the story, I can related to Andrew in so many way. I mostly liked while reading it felt more and more realistic as reading it day by day.
