Publisher Description
An ex-con with a bad-boy reputation falls for his childhood sweetheart—a good-girl cop chasing a ruthless killer—as the Texas Bounty series gets steamier than the Lone Star State.
Rush Redmond never expected freedom to taste so bittersweet. He spent eight years in jail doing someone else’s time, and for what? As an ex-con, Rush can’t work as a bounty hunter like his brothers—not in Texas. Better to drown his sorrows with a stiff drink and soft curves. Too bad the temptation he craves is a redhead with a badge: Ava St. George. Once upon a time, Rush would’ve done anything for the sheriff’s innocent daughter. Now he’s fighting the urge to let her sweet-talk him into some trouble he can’t afford.
Even though she’s a cop, Ava knows that sometimes justice means pushing the boundaries of the law. To track down her mother’s killer, she turns to the man with the county’s criminal underworld in his little black book. The boy she knew is still drop-dead gorgeous, with panty-dropping charm as smooth as his smile. But his sculpted arms and the menacing gleam in his eyes scream “Don’t mess with me.” Yet Ava needs Rush more than ever—in more ways than one.
Don’t miss any of Jackie Ashenden’s seductive Texas Bounty novels:

Wow!!!!!
Wow! Ms. Ashenden has done it again! I loved this story. Let's begin shall we. In this story, we have Rush Redmond, middle brother to younger brother Zane, whom we met in Take Me Deeper and he is living his HEA with Iris. Then we have big brother Quinn whom we really need to read about. I mean I seriously need to read his book next...something is going on with Quinn and The Duchess and the air is just palatable with electricity. Lol. I digress, Rush has spent the last 8 years in prison for a crime he did not commit to protect his Dad or Quinn (because at this point, we really don't know who did the deed tsk, tsk, tsk) He is released and he is bitter with a secret he has kept for 18 years and not only does he deserve some series R&R, he sets out for revenge as well. Ava St. George, the heroine, is a girl, now a woman, whom he used to look after when her Dad and his Dad used to shoot the breeze together. He always gave her milk and cookies, sweet right? Ava goes to Rush at a stripper bar to ask for his help and contact names that might know some answers to an unsolved murder that is very important to her. He does not want to give her the information because he knows that she will be in danger. In the end, when she reveals why she needs the information, he decides to help her. Ava has always had a crush on Rush and after losing her V card to him, realizes that she has loved him all along. The sex scenes were hot, which is par the course for Ashenden's books. Scorching hot! Lol. As far as, Rush goes, it took me some time to warm up and fall in love with him. He was basically an a**hole for most of the book to Ava and his family. As the reader, you know why and what he is going through, but you still want to take a frying pan to the side of his head. Lol... He starts to make amends with his brothers and becomes the sweetest and most adorable male to Ava. Justice is met and Rush and Ava get their HEA. Loved it!
Great story
Ava is a cop and lives with her dad. Her mother was an officer and was killed when she was a child. Her dad is the sheriff and is cold and distant. She gets a tip, that her mother wasn't killed by the drug dealer but an arms dealer. The only person she can get to help her is Rush.
Rush spent eight years on prison for a crime he didn't commit. He and his brothers run a fugitive recovery business. He is bitter, angry, and a douche. The man Ava is after, happens to be the man Rush thinks is his real father. They crash a party he is having and truths are revealed.
Great story. Ava is sweet, red headed virgin. Rush is a sexy, tattooed bad boy who needed an attitude adjustment. I understand the angry but he didn't have to be a douchebag. I didn't understand why he didn't tell his brothers about their mother's deathbed confession. But once you get past the rough spots of Rush's character, he's a sweetheart.

Awesome
Loved this!! This is Rush Redmond's story. He's a character that has you hating him and loving him at the same time. After spending 8 years in prison for a crime he didn't commit he's back in town with a bad attitude and determined not to care about anything or anyone. The only person that seems to be able to get through to him is the one woman he should want no part of. Rush remembers Ava St. George as the little girl he befriended when they were younger but she's not that little girl anymore. Now sweet sheriff's daughter is all grown up and a deputy working for her father. When she starts poking her nose into some very dangerous territory Rush knows he has to help her. And while he doesn't think she should be anywhere near the dangerous people she's hunting, these same people hold some answers that Rush needs as well. Will spending so much time with Ava be Rush's undoing??
This is the third in the series but each of these books can be read on their own. I definitely recommend this one.
