Corny Poo-Poo
I had to read this book for a Leadership class at UF. As I was reading it my girlfriend described it as “corny poo-poo.” She was right. In general, this book gives sound, if obvious, advice. For example, The Law of Process tells you that success doesn’t happen overnight, but from working to improve every day. The law of Solid Ground tells you that trust is foundational for leadership. I have many issues with this book including bad advice, poor examples, and a self congratulatory tone. However my biggest issue with the book is that it exists. I spent hours reading every page, additional hours watching corresponding lectures, and I will take an exam soon, on what amounts to a glorified post on Tumblr. If you’re forced to read this then do what you must. If you’re reading this on your own, do yourself a favor and google a list of the 21 “laws.” You can save yourself the money, and time, and gather everything this book has to offer in 10 minutes.
