Publisher Description

The goal of META Solutions’ Research and Development program was to develop innovative learning environments across central Ohio. These Next-Generation Learning Environments focused on three specific Measures of Success: Personalization, Student Growth, and Engagement. To accomplish these measures, META implemented an innovation model similar to those used by businesses to develop new products.

After 27 years of teaching, Jill Simpson observed that students are most engaged when working on creative, meaningful, problem-based projects. Her vision: create a successful 7th grade project-based learning (PBL) environment which integrates the English Common Core standards across the interdisciplinary core subjects through 21st century skills. With a focus on meaningful, real-world work, this model embodies the expectations and preparation for colleges and job markets.
