The JCES-BLC Model

The goal of META Solutions’ Research and Development program was to develop innovative learning environments across central Ohio. These Next-Generation Learning Environments focused on three specific Measures of Success: Personalization, Student Growth, and Engagement. To accomplish these measures, META implemented an innovation model similar to those used by businesses to develop new products.

The Blended Learning Community (BLC) is a station model blended learning classroom comprised of 4th and 5th grade students whose learning is facilitated by two classroom teachers and supported by parents, support staff, and administration. The primary goal of teachers Tammy Rodriguez and Amy Crisp is to individualize an instructional learning path for every student.
