Prague 1939. Young mother Eva has a secret from her past. When the Nazis invade, Eva knows the only way to keep her daughter Miriam safe is to send her away - even if it means never seeing her again. But when Eva is taken to a concentration camp, her secret is at risk of being exposed.

Enjoyed how all the stories came together
Enjoyed the intertwined stories all coming together at the end.
Waste of time
I have been reading holocaust novels for 15 years now, and this is the first one I encountered that fell beyond short. Fill Thompson’s writing gave me the first holocaust fiction book that left me disappointed, so in that capacity he did accomplish something. Repeats of the same metaphor felt lazy and exhaustive. The plot was very slow to move and the whole work was very repetitive. Snooze fest. There was a massive plot twist towards the end of the book, but the way it was executed was poor - took what could have been a very powerful moment in the story and made it very matter of fact. The book had so much potential but did not deliver at all. Hated every second.
The Child on Platform One
I learned so much from this book that I never learned in school growing up. At 79, I literally couldn’t put this book down, and finished it in less than 2 days. Everyone should read this book! Well Done!
