Publisher Description
A new science fiction thriller from the bestselling author of the Shadows in the Water series.
In the meticulously controlled world of Zone 2, Commander Grace Buteo has dedicated her life to keeping citizens safe from cybercrime, terrorism, and threats from the outer zones. But when an IED meant for Grace kills her husband and son, her belief in the city she protects begins to fracture.
Desperate for purpose, Grace immerses herself in a high-profile investigation: the theft of twenty-six artificial organs from a powerful genetic engineering corporation. What begins as a routine case soon exposes cracks in the city's perfect façade—and raises unsettling questions about the people closest to her.
For fans of Philip K. Dick's provocative science fiction and J.D. Robb's In Death series, The City Below is a gripping blend of mystery, technology, and moral suspense.

Couldn’t put it down!
I literally could not put this book down. I was so fascinated with the completely believable and imaginative world that Kory M. Shrum had built that I read the book in one sitting. Her characters are always intriguing and have a depth to them that makes you feel as if you have known them all of your life and this book does not disappoint!
Excellent book!
I really enjoy this author’s work, who was recommended by another author that I like very much. I’ve started reading the “Dying for a Living” and “Shadows in the Water” series by the same author and think this one is even better (though they are all good). Each series is unique and the plots are more imaginative than any other books I have ever read. So good that I think they will would all make excellent cinema movies as well. I highly recommend this and the other mentioned series written by Kory Shrum.
Wow!
Not what I was expecting but such a great beginning to what I hope will be an engaging series. Such a believable future world with characters one wants to know more about.
