The high chair lay on its side, a toy elephant and a crumpled green blanket scattered across the floor beside it.
“She had a baby? Is it—?”
“The baby’s gone.”
When Detective Josie Quinn is called to a large house on the outskirts of the small town of Denton, she’s horrified by the viciousness of the attack – smashed glass, splintered furniture and blood spattered across the floor. The owner, a single mother, is fighting for her life, and her newborn baby is missing.
A beautiful young woman caught fleeing the scene is Detective Josie Quinn’s only lead, but when questioned it seems this mysterious girl doesn’t know who she is, where she’s from or why she’s so terrified…
Is she a witness, a suspect, or the next victim?
As Josie digs deeper, a letter found hidden in the house convinces her the attack, the missing child, and the nameless woman are linked to a spate of killings across the county, and Josie is faced with a heart-breaking decision...
Should she risk the life of one child to save many others? Or can she find another way to stop this killer before any more innocent lives are taken?
Nail-biting, twisty and impossible to put down. If you love gripping thrillers from Angela Marsons, Robert Dugoni and Rachel Caine, you’ll be absolutely hooked!

Personal and professional concerns plague Josie Quinn, the recently installed Denton, Pa., chief of police, in Regan's solid if improbable sequel to 2019's Vanishing Girls. Josie should be looking forward to her wedding to state trooper Luke Creighton, but her fianc has been distant and uncommunicative. Then Josie and Lt. Noah Fraley are called to the home of single mother Misty Derossi, who's been severely beaten. Misty's newborn baby is missing, and as Josie struggles to put together the scant evidence, she also tries to put aside her feelings she detests Misty for having had an affair with her late husband, Ray. Meanwhile, Luke has disappeared and a mystery woman who claims to have amnesia is at his house, dressed in his shirt. As the bodies pile up, Josie and Noah widen their investigation, which has myriad twists. The police details buoy the story, even if it's hard to believe that Josie is allowed to lead a case in which she has such a close tie to the victim. Josie, strong and intuitive, has enough substance to sustain a long series.
Losing sleep because of Lisa Regan...
I am currently binge reading the Josie Quinn series after finishing The Vanishing Girls a couple of weeks ago, I read it in one day! I just finished The Girl With No Name, for some reason I had a harder time getting into it but once I did I ended up devouring as well, I was up until 6am finishing it. Lisa’s books always have delicious plot twists, I can’t wait to start reading Her Mother’s Grave....its a good thing I am “retired” so I don’t have that pesky thing called work interrupting my reading, now if I could just ignore the other distractions.
That’s all I can say. The twists and turns are always unexpected. Just when you think you have it figured out another wrench is thrown into the mix. Great series!
Josie Quinn and Noah are beginning to be my favorite cops.
