Publisher Description
How do you solve a murder when the victim is still alive?
Maggie Lee’s murder mentor (and almost lover) Patrick Mulligan wants her to find out who poisoned him before it’s too late. Keeping the man she loves alive would be hard enough if all she had to worry about was not getting caught, but nothing’s ever that simple.
In between dealing with her strung out cat, searching for Patrick’s poisoner, meeting a deadline to deliver a mysterious gift for her mobster boss and keeping a curious reporter on his toes, she finds herself entangled in the complicated (and potentially dangerous) romantic affairs of her Aunt Susan and her semi-psychic friend Armani.
Hearts and lives are in peril.
Can the kooky, klutzy assassin save them?

Emotional and Awesome!
Talk about emotional! I loved THE HITWOMAN AND THE POISONED APPLE because it had more of Patrick in it and a flury of emotions. Normally these books are always counted on for great laughter but this one caused me to shed a few tears not once but twice. I love that in a book. JB Lynn also has an annoyingly good way of making you want to quickly pick up the next book in the series. I am so glad that there are many more books in the series out so I don't have to wait, too. I see why all her fans love it that she writes so quickly.
In THE POISONED APPLE Maggie is tasked with finding out who tried to poison Patrick but there is so much more going on with the other characters in the story, too. Sometimes it's hard to keep track of everything going on but I think it puts the reader in Maggie's shoes because she feels the same way. She needs to be in about 20 places at once. It's hard to pick a favorite book in this series, but THE POISONED APPLE is up there because of the plot and emotions tied up with Maggie and Patrick.
Lynn does a fabulous job with another installment of the Hitwoman books by giving us more of Maggie's life but nothing is ever the same as the previous books. Sometimes a series like this can become a little mundane but I have yet to feel that with Maggie and family. If you are looking for an entertaining series that will pull you in from the beginning and keep you reading, give THE HITWOMAN books by JB Lynn a try. You will love them!
Missed
The fact that the end that she had to let her love think that someone else I figured out who’s trying to poison was unnecessary. She could’ve done it because she actually saw him doing something that she could claim herself.
