Publisher Description
Imagine a high-strung, comfort loving hitwoman at a rustic spiritual retreat.
Things are finally looking up for Maggie Lee.
Her almost-lover Patrick is taking steps (albeit deadly ones) to insure they’ll have a future together, her niece Katie is about to be released from the hospital, her sister Marlene has stopped turning tricks and started tossing pizzas, and Maggie has a chance to land a new (legal) job.
If only God would stop hounding her to apologize to her mother, Maggie would be pretty close to content with her life.
When Maggie agrees to take out a new target, using a spiritual retreat as her cover story, she ends up with a spoon (long story), an odd, selectively mute roommate, and a chance to save a life.
As Maggie struggles to balance all the important people in her life and deliver on the deadly contract, she begins to believe that God may be right about the act of contrition he’s demanded…but will she live long enough to do it?

Confessions of a hit woman
I truly enjoy this series. It’s not held up by a crutch of sex and overly violent scenes. I love the characters. Maggie who does things to keep her life as well as the lives of her family on track, is unconventional as well as clever and caring. My only gripe, the books are short while the cost for me is a bit on the higher side. I am on a fixed income so by the time I read the entire series I’ll have some cash invested in it. I do very much love the series and ALL the characters human as well as animal.
Author apparently disdains her readers
While the stories are good, and the author is funny, she apparently considers one pass through spell check takes care of all editing and proofreading needs. Yes, she's funny like Evanovich, but those books don't have stupid errors as Evanovich respects her readers enough to actually try to put out a good product. I'm only on chapter 5 of this book and have found at least a dozen glaring errors. This is true of every book in this series. There is no quality here, it's more "get the money and run". So sad, when these could be really great reads.
