The 10th and final book in the bestselling 1797 Club series by USA Today Bestseller Jess Michaels
When Christopher “Kit” Collins’ father dies, he is devastated, but he must swiftly take on the title of Duke of Kingsacre and all the responsibility that comes with it. Including the care of his very young illegitimate half-sister, who is now his ward. He is very upset when he discovers the governess his father hired for the child just before his death is Sarah Carlton.
Sarah is equally disturbed by the arrival of her new employer, as she and Kit once had an unpleasant encounter when she was at her lowest point. But since she has no other place to go, she can only hope he will not sack her. Thanks to the adoration of his sister, he does not and the two enter into a wary truce because they both care for the child.
A truce that explodes one passionate night after a nearly tragic accident. Comfort leads to more and soon the two are engaged in an affair. But when danger comes to threaten the child they both love, they must overcome their deeply rooted mistrust and work together to keep her safe. And perhaps find a way to make a family together.

Good ending to a great series!
This is a really good enemies to lovers story. As they say there’s a fine line between love and hate.
Sarah Carlton once moved amongst the ton, now after losing everything she’s the nanny for the dying Earl of Idlewood youngest child, Phoebe. She may of lost everything but she will make the most of what she has.
Christopher “Kit” Collins questioned his father for hiring Sarah. He’s not liked her since he caught her being rude to his friends finance. Kit made it quite clear that he does not like Sarah but Phoebe adores her and with his father on his deathbed he made it known that Sarah will be needed when he’s gone.
Sarah has had feelings for Kit but knows he hates her. She’s a very strong woman, she knows what it means to loose someone and she’s not afraid to step up to help Kit through his grief.
Kit doesn’t understand why he always is thinking of Sarah. He’s starts to see her in another light and he’s beginning to rely on she more and more, but when her life is in danger can he live with out her?
I’m very sad to see this series end, It has such great characters and story lines.
Read all ten books and loved them all. I only wish this series would continue.

The best of the series...
This book, in my opinion, was quite possibly the best of the series. Kit is my favorite duke and his father was wonderful. This was a very good story and it was told beautifully. I cried. I laughed and it tugged at my heartstrings. The characters were full of life and endearing. I am happy we finally got to Kit's story, but I'm sad it was the final book in the series.
