Dear Gods I Loved This
All the richness and wildly imaginative details of fairy tales… but with three-dimensional and wholly true-to-themselves characters! I loved this with the same passion I reserved for *Spinning Silver* — and yet it’s mien was utterly unlike that story’s. “Coming-of-age” is an entirely overused description… but this story, and these characters, unfolded the way life does: in unexpected fits and starts, with gawping moments of realization. This was *delicious.* I dearly love Ms. Kingfisher’s rich reworking of stale and somewhat historically incomprehensible fairy tales… they feel so much more immediate and poignant, in her words, with her direction. Going back to my Kingfisher-binge, now…
Cute Story
Light hearted fantasy fable that I had a good time reading.
My Heart Thanks You
This amazing book felt like I was given a second childhood. Not in a juvenile sense, but as a child who truly believed all the fairy tales.
Where have they gone? They are waiting in books for our grandchildren to discover. I believe.
