Ryan's language, often overwritten to the point of obscurity, is the primary road block for this otherwise thrilling deep dive into fantasy warfare. Unseasoned fantasy readers may get lost in a complicated web of action, verbose imagery, and multitudinous characters, but those familiar with Ryan's work will find this installment immersive as well as highly technical.

My favorite series
This is the second series with this group of characters. It is by far the best fantasy series I’ve read in sometime. It is not overdo the fantasy part it’s more a mix of medieval historical fiction and fantasy without overdoing one or the other. Great set of characters. Fantastic series
