Helen Gump looked at the tiny rock in her hands and felt lonely.
She walked over to the window and reflected on her dull surroundings. She had always loved grand Skegness with its faithful, flat fields. It was a place that encouraged her tendency to feel lonely.
Then she saw something in the distance, or rather someone. It was the figure of Mildred Pitt. Mildred was a tight-fisted giant with blonde feet and handsome fingers.
