A Wonderful Vampire World
My journey through Elizabeth Hunter’s elemental vampire world began with a book I stumbled upon in my local library’s online selections, “A Hidden Fire.” I was caught up in a well thought out human and vampire world with rich, intriguing characters. That is where I first met the burly, joyful, loving earth vampire, Carwyn: the priest for a thousand years, the caregiver, the friend, the lover and mate, the Hawaiian shirt lover no matter how garish. He has been a steady figure throughout many of the books. In “Tin God”, we see an angry, hurt vampire as his wife/mate, fire vampire Brigid, has left him to search for Zasha, the fire vampire causing havoc, now cutting a swath through the Pacific Northwest, especially Alaska. Elizabeth Hunter never fails to incorporate where the vampires are as another character in the story. Each location is chosen with a purpose in relation to the story and becomes an important part of the story. We can see in our mind’s eye the beauty and expanse of this American state. We can almost feel the cold wind on our cheeks and the moisture in the air as we fly with Ben and Tenzin or walk the earth with Carwyn and Brigid. This Elemental Covenant series has been dedicated to Carwyn and Brigid and their quest to find the lost, help the hurt, and serve justice when they can. Now, Zasha has upped the ante to draw not only Brigid but Tenzin into the fray, plotting against Tenzin for a long ago transgression. Where Tenzin goes, Ben follows. So we have these four set to get to the bottom of Zasha’s plans and to find the vampires who are attacking remote human/vampire settlements in the remote areas of Alaska. This story shows us the best of Brigid as she comes to understand the complexities of her fire element. It is always interesting to be given a glimpse of Tenzin’s past, especially when that past has impacted the present and is affecting so many. Tenzin sees her word is her bond. It has been great to see her character grow and change especially since she mated with Ben. “Tin God” is a page turning, roller coaster ride and an excellent finale to the Elemental Covenant series starring Carwyn and Brigid. This story contains a lot of action and suspense, a lot of vampires—some familiar and some new, elements colliding, burning and splashing, and last but not least, scorching, incredibly sexy moments between mated pairs. Elizabeth Hunter has done it again with this addition to her paranormal vampire universe. Definitely recommended for lovers of the genre and fans of Ms. Hunter.

This book finishes a thread that was started in other books. Everything is wrapped up very nicely. Can’t wait for the next Elemental read.
